In Romans 12, Paul says that Christians are not to conform to the world around us but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. The world offers its own vision of what is right and good. It promises peace, security, and fulfillment, yet these promises often prove to be illusions. Paul invites us to see both the world and ourselves differently. We are called to understand life through the lens of God's kingdom.
As followers of Jesus, our lives are meant to be different. We are called to reflect the hope, truth, and character of Christ. To do this, our minds must be continually renewed as we filter out the background noise of our culture and align ourselves with God's purposes.
