Jesus God's Wisdom

In our latest lesson from the Wisdom series, we explored how Jesus is not simply a teacher of wisdom, but the very revelation of God’s wisdom.

Throughout the Old Testament, wisdom appears in creation, in righteous living, and in the fear of the Lord. However, the story of wisdom feels as though it is building toward something greater. In Jesus, we see the fullness of wisdom revealed.

The Apostle Paul writes in Colossians 2:3 that in Christ “are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” Jesus is the wisdom of God.

From the Sermon on the Mount to the cross, Jesus reveals a wisdom that is completely different from the world's. While the world values power and self-promotion, Jesus teaches humility, mercy, and surrender.
